This rooftop terrace was designed for corporate entertaining for events such as the Monaco grandprix. We had to consider loadings of materials used and opted for a light weight medium and planted some semi mature wasingtonia palm trees. These were under planted with some cycas palms, phormiums and strelitzias.
Drainage needed to be considered and an irrigation system was installed at the time of planting. All services were run in the planter beds prior to back filling of our selected medium. A false jasmin was chosen to grow over the trellis for its evergreen and fragment qualities.
Logistics in and around Monaco are quite complicated and careful planning was required for deliveries and crane operation.
