This client wanted to upgrade their garden courtyard especially in terms of the choice of materials. We designed micro-shade cladding with two invisible doors at either end to create a calm sense of enclosure. Old granite walls were left exposed in keeping with the surrounds and the patio was modernised using oatmeal granite paving.
Espalier elaeagnus trees were planted along the side wall with subtle underlighting to light them up at night. Additional planting was kept simple for the space with the aim of softening the hard landscaping and bringing some green into the urban space.
