Luxury Terrace / Mandelieu

French Gardens

Period: Mar 2007 - Mar 2008

Client: Bannon

Our client wanted to create flow between his house, garden and pool. We surveyed the property and submitted plans to the local authorities for the construction of a drop away swimming pool. Access was extremely difficult and the terrain was rocky which meant a lot of breaking and removal of waste.

We built stone terracing, steps and a bridgeway around a drop-away pool. Walls were hand-tied using natural stone including built-in lights and iron-work. Plants were low maintenance and were chosen to maximise colour and low water requirments. We originally planned to plant some palms trees in close proximity to the swimming pool but opted for some citrus trees and olives due to root depth. We planted many chamerops, strelitzias, rosemary, cycas palms to name but a few.

"We are delighted with the transformation of our garden. The ability of Lotus Landscape Design to envisage the finished project in terms of interaction of the garden with the villa and the pool was quite stunning. It all works great."
